Black Honey... If you have followed my journey in falling in love with this band, you will know that it started as lukewarm and went into flaming hot! This is a great band. They have style, they have flair, they are cool and uncool at the same time. They are artsy, sophisticated and some times kitsch. They have it all!
Their self-titled album was released in September 21st and thankfully Nottingham was one of the cities they visited. They only had Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester on the poster, so Notts got lucky! I won't gush over them... for too long! The night was fantastic, as expected. I had my expectations high and they were met. They sang all their great songs and introduced us to their new ones.
Their presence is magnetic, and their performance excellent. The venue was crowded and as with their previous gigs, they are all very engrossed into the music. They have a loyal following... and I am one of them. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to arrive at the venue early so I was standing at the back (hence the not so great photos. But the lighting was so excellent that I managed to snap three excellent photos. All there are posted here for your delight! |
