News half way through 2017

2017 has been kind so far. I have gone to 7 gigs and a festival. Heard the legendary Bob Dylan and discovered new talents in the likes of Julia Jacklin, Angel Olsen and Miya Folick. I have booked an additional legend in the autumn and a few more gigs. One of those bands was on my wish list blog post! I am really excited - the universe heard me!!! You will find out about these in due course. 

 Also, things I need to report:

• I have heard Clean Cut Kid on the radio at least three times in the last few months and they are also headlining their own tour. Clearly I was wrong about this band!
• I have gone from lukewarm to flaming hot in terms of liking Black Honey. So much so that I even bought their vinyls. Awesome music and artwork. 
• Talking about purchases, I also bought Cattle&Cane first album. Lovely CD and personally wrapped. Nice delicate artwork.
• Georgie has indeed got signed by a major record label and is soon to release something. She was performing at Splendour Festival this year. Unfortunately, I decided to pass it. Weather isn't great and money is low. Perhaps next year.
• There is a new music festival in the area: RadFest 2k17. I had booked my ticket to attend, a whole £1 worth! But decided to meet up with friends in London so have to wait for next year. At least I supported them financially!!
• Pixx was the closing act for Stealth venue during Dot-to-dot Festival 2017. Excellent news. Her new material are worth hearing. I expect her to go places.
• Remember Rat Boy? Well Vevo/youtube won't let me forget them! Every time I listen to an offsprings song the ad before them is Rat Boy! How on earth could that have happened? I AM NOT THEIR TARGET GROUP. Bad money spending!
• Finally, very sad news. The Crookes, my new favorite new band... they are calling it a day! They have their final tour in September but unfortunately they didn't include Nottingham. Sad news. They really are a talented bunch. Hopefully this is a hiatus and not a permanent break-up. 

That's about it. Summer is slow on gigs for me. I shall resume in the autumn. Enjoy your gig going.
